This is the image for the news article titled Students Participate in Youth Art ProjectRecently, several Salt River Schools students joined other Community youth and participated in a special “Youth Art Project” led by artists Dwayne Manuel and Thomas Breeze Marcus - shout out to everyone involved for being out there from 6-10 a.m. on a hot/humid Saturday!

The project was part of the SRPMIC Anti-Substance Abuse Campaign and the art will eventually be showcased at school bus stops across the Community.

At Salt River Schools, the Community's campaign and its focus on young people are so important to us. It is vital for youth to have their voices/perspectives heard and honored, especially when it comes to the health and wellness of their Community. Being able to express themselves through creativity, as the youth are in this video, is a great way to ensure conversations and solutions are focused on the next generations.

The boards being designed in this video read “Don’t Drug Yourself Down.” Check it out!

Special thanks to photographer Monique White, a Salt River High School student, for taking many of the photos seen in this video.
