Check Out Information

  • Present your library card to check out items
  • 10 items per checkout for regular library cards
  • 6 items per checkout for temporary cards
  • Loan periods books and audiobooks is 3 weeks; DVD/Blu-Ray 1 week

Requirements
Adults obtaining a Salt River Tribal Library card will need to present:

  • Tribal ID (SRPMIC enrolled members)/Photo ID (Non-Enrolled residents of SRPMIC)
  • Proof of address (Mail, Utility Bill, Secondary ID with mailing address)

Youth Patrons
Children 5 years and up may obtain a Salt River Tribal Library card when a Parent/Legal Guardian is present and provides the following information:

  • Minor’s Tribal ID
  • Adults Proof of address

Steps to Sign up/Renew for a Library Card
We update all library card records every two years, Library cards expired for longer than 3 years beyond your renewal date may be removed from the Library system.

  2. Include an image of your tribal ID and a proof of residence (see below for examples)
  3. Return via email to TribalLibrary@SRPMIC-nsn.gov
  4. You will receive a confirmation email/call and your Library Card will be mailed to you!

Replacing a Lost Library Card
Replacement cards may be obtained at the Salt River Tribal Library at a cost of $2.00. You will be asked to provide a valid photo ID at the time a replacement card is issued. Report lost or stolen cards immediately in person or by calling the library.

ABE/GED Classes – The Salt River Schools ABE/GED Program provides rigorous and personalized instruction and assessment to adult learners in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community who desire to build an academic foundation and earn their High School Equivalency.

American Indian College Fund – The American Indian College Fund has been transforming lives through investment in Native students and tribal college education for over 30 years.

Cobell Scholarship – Indigenous Education, Inc. promotes The Cobell Scholarship’s goal to provide applicants and inquirers with the most beneficial information regarding this carefully established scholarship opportunity.

FAFSA – Use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form to apply for financial aid for college or graduate school.

Khan Academy – Khan Academy’s library of trusted, standards-aligned practice and lessons covers math K-12 through early college, grammar, science, history, AP®, SAT®, and more. It’s all free for learners and teachers.

Native American Resources
The American Indian Higher Education Consortium AIHEC Virtual Library – The American Indian Higher Education Consortium Virtual Library is a collection of resources by, for and about Native Americans available online.

Arizona Tribes & Research Policies – NPTAO has worked with many Native Nations across the state of Arizona to obtain copies of the most up-to-date policies and protocols that control research processes and outline procedures for conducting research.

Billie Jane Baguley Library & Archives – The Heard Museum is home to the Billie Jane Baguley Library and Archives — a comprehensive research facility offering extensive information about indigenous art and cultures from around the world and an unparalleled resource collection on nearly 25,000 American Indian artists.

Healthy Native Youth – HealthyNativeYouth.org contains health promotion curricula and resources for American Indian and Alaska Native youth. The curricula housed on our site promote positive youth development, embrace cultural teachings, and demonstrate evidence of effectiveness.

Culture Passes are now available at Salt River Tribal Library

Computers
Computers are available with a library card or guest pass. Patrons using the provided technology agree to the posed rules in the computer room.

  • Fax Services – 10 page limit, numbers in U.S. Only
  • Document Scanner – 10 Page limit with no charge
  • Prints & Copies – Scan to USB Drive, patron provides USB Drive

Hotspots
Hotspots are available for checkout at the front desk with a library card and a signed form:
