Student & Parent Handbook

Dear Students and Families,

Ske:g Taṣ! Welcome back to another great year of excellence! The Student & Parent Handbook linked below provides guidance and policies related to all things Salt River Schools, including health and safety, student attendance expectations, school-to-parent communications, and academic curriculum. Please also review the Student Conduct & Discipline Handbook linked below.

The scope of these handbooks reflect a unified Division, incorporating the expectations and procedures at all our schools: The Early Childhood Education Center, Salt River Elementary School, and the Accelerated Learning Academy. I invite you to stay updated and learn more about the happenings at each school by visiting and bookmarking their websites.

Reach for the Stars    This year’s Division-wide theme is “Reach for the Stars.” With this we hope to recognize the dreams and goals we empower our students and families to reach, as well as to see ourselves as a constellation, a network of shining connections in a galaxy of possibilities. What does this look like day-to-day? Salt River Schools strives to ensure our services are always focused on student achievement, safety, and wellness for an exceptional school experience.

Your support and involvement is vital to reaching this goal. One of the best ways to do this is to follow Community health guidelines in place to keep us all safe, including wearing a face mask, respecting social distancing rules, and practicing good hand washing. Remember: Face masks are required for all staff, students*, and visitors at Salt River Schools (*ECEC students are not required to wear face masks; however, staff will assist students with mask-wearing if parents request it). Any updates to our safety measures will be communicated through our SchoolMessenger broadcast system and on our COVID-19 infopage.   Click here to view a larger image.

Mava sape (thank you) for choosing Salt River Schools. We value all that you do by entrusting us with your student. Let’s make it a great year!

Sincerely,

Dr. Victoria Corlett
Interim Acting Superintendent
